Kelly Ripa Would Love To Retire If Not For Hosting Gig With Husband Mark Consuelos

Kelly Ripa has considered leaving “Live” behind, but she’s having way too much fun co-hosting with her husband Mark Consuelos to actually do so.

At first, it seemed as if fans of “Live would not be happy with new host Consuelos, but the couple were able to dial into their working chemistry to keep fans as entertained as ever.

Kelly Ripa – Reveals Why She Stayed On “Live” For Too Long

Not everybody can take changes in their stride, or even take risks, and that’s why some of us are comfortable staying at one job, living in the same apartment or even maintaining the same friendship circles for a long time.

For Ripa, gambling with her career for something more was not something she had the guts to do, and that’s why she stayed on the show too long she sort of became the face of “Live.”

In a recent interview, Ripa, 52, revealed that she is naturally a “risk-averse” person, noting that it’s “probably the reason I stayed with the same job for so long.”

Chatting with Purist, she added, “other offers come along, but I like to stick with what I know. I am very steadfast in everything I do, and so when you have me, you have me for life.”

And it’s not only Ripa’s career that has been rock steady for the last two decades, her marriage to actor Mark Consuelos, 52, has also seen longevity, compared to most Hollywood marriages.

“Having said that,” she continued, “I don’t intend to work at this job for the rest of my life. I do talk about retirement with great interest, but right now I’m very happy, especially working with Mark.”

April this year saw Consuelos make his talk show debut on “Live With Kelly and Mark,” after Seacrest, who was Ripa’s co-host for six seasons, left the show.

However, three months later, Seacrest, who also hosts American Idol, joined the couple for a chat on “Live.”

Kelly Ripa – Thanks Fans For Sticking With “Live” Even In The Era Of Streaming Platforms

“Our audience has remained with us,” she explained, “and I think it’s because we are a break from the news. The news we cover is oftentimes absurd.

We are sort of a respite from the anxiety of the day. We’re not revolutionary. We’re evolutionary, and so we evolve in small, tiny increments along the way, and I think that’s very important. It provides comfort to people.”
