Kevin Costner Divorce Gets Ugly

When wife Christine filed for divorce, Costner was said to be “surprised” but not “shocked” that she would push the divorce button. However, weeks later, the “Yellowstone Actor” is complaining that she’s yet to budge, even though the prenup required her to move out of their shared property 30 days after filing for divorce.

It seems like another ugly Hollywood divorce is unfolding. It hasn’t been long since news emerged that Kevin Costner’s wife filed for divorce from the star, and yet there’s already so much drama.

Per a report by TMZ, Christine is refusing to leave their shared property after she filed for divorce on May 1. If you think it’s weird, also consider that there’s a prenup that states she has to leave the property within 30 days of the divorce filing. Let’s be honest, these were documents she signed 18 years ago.

The documents also alleged that the reason Christine is yet to budge is because she’s fighting to have Costner agree to “various financial demands.”

Kevin Costner Claims Estranged Wife Still Demands More From Him Even After He Went “Above and Beyond”

According to a source speaking to PEOPLE, Costner has tried his best to meet her demands and resolve everything amicably. This included paying her a million dollars on top of what was required in their prenuptial agreement.

“He has gone above and beyond what the prenup specified,” the source said.

Per TMZ, the obtained documents show that Costner is willing to to contribute a $10,000 advance toward Christine’s moving costs and $30,000 per month for a rental home.

Christine’s attorney is yet to respond to any of these claims.

What Does Kevin Costner’s Prenup State And What Does It Mean For Wife Christine

On May 2, a rep for Costner officially confirmed that the couple, who have been married for 18 years, were breaking up after Christine filed for divorce. In the document, Christine listed their date of separation as April 11, citing irreconcilable differences.

Filing his own response afterward, Costner asked for joint custody and cited irreconcilable differences. The actor/director’s filing also mentioned a prenup, in regards to spousal support, legal fees and properties.

The “separate property” his legal team listed include: “Miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects; earnings and accumulations of Respondent before marriage, during marriage, and from and after the date of separation; [and] there are additional separate property assets and obligations of each party as mandated by the parties’ Premarital Agreement.”

They also add, “Pursuant to the terms in Paragraph 9.A. of the parties’ Premarital Agreement, Petitioner to vacate Respondent’s separate property residences.”
