In a recent Instagram story, the “SKNN By Kim” founder Kim Kardashian updated her followers on her psoriasis disease. Using both videos and pictures, Kim shared an unedited look of her leg with red blotches and told her fans that they are quite “painful.”
In one of the videos, the 43-year-old said, “How crazy is my psoriasis right now guys? Like, all up my leg, I don’t know what’s happening. I have to figure this out.”
She went on to caption the photos which were shared on Tuesday, January 30, “Not gonna lie this is painful. Not sure what my triggers are. I haven’t changed my diet. I’ve tried everything.” She ended her writeup with “Psoriasis sucks.”
The Hulu star discovered her auto-immune condition after her first flare-up at age 25. She has since shared how she has been managing her life amid the condition which was passed down to her by her mom Kris Jenner.
Kim Kardashian — On Kim’s First Flare-Up
Back in 2019, the “SKIMS” founder took to her big sister Kourtney’s website “Poosh” to narrate her first experience with the auto-immune condition, “One night, I woke up to use the restroom and I physically couldn’t pick up my phone. I thought it was strange but maybe I just slept on my hands weird and I was so tired, I didn’t need to be checking my phone at that hour anyway. I fell right back asleep.”
She went on to share how she woke up in the morning still not able to lift things up. “I woke up that morning and I still couldn’t pick up my phone, I was freaking out—I couldn’t even pick up a toothbrush, my hands hurt so badly. As the day went on, I got a bit more movement in my hands, but they really hurt from the inside—I felt it in my bones.”

Kim’s disease was first diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus but was later rediagnosed as psoriatic arthritis. Three years after telling the world about her diagnosis, Kim once again took to Kourtney’s website to talk about her journey with her health condition.
Kim said, “Even though I always grew up with my mom having psoriasis and hearing her talk about her struggle, I really had no idea what my life would be like dealing with an autoimmune disease myself. It’s been 13 years since I experienced my first psoriasis flare-up. My journey has been very different from my mom’s, but I see so many similarities as well.”
She continued, “She had it in her scalp and all over her body, and I’d see it all the time and remember her going to the tanning salon to try and ease it. Getting UV rays directly on the spots really helped my mom. For me, however, that remedy would burn the areas and cause them to itch, so I always felt helpless.”
