Meghan McCain Says She Didn’t Receive Help From The View During Pregnancy and After She Welcomed Daughter Liberty
If you’ve ever found yourself wondering why McCain exited The View, then wonder no more because the talkshow host talked about it on her latest podcast appearance.
On The Commentary Magazine podcast, McCain rehashed the old feud and explained why it motivated her to leave The View for better opportunities. This is coming after Joy Behar gloried in her more conservative replacement on the long-running show.
Remember when McCain was just returning to work in 2021 after taking a maternity break in January and Behar boldly told her she was not missed? Yeah, that was the catalyst for McCain’s sudden exit.
“I finally went back to the show, and the day I went back to the show, Joy Behar said on air, ‘Nobody missed you, we didn’t miss you, you shouldn’t have come back,'” McCain said on the podcast. “And I just… I started hysterically crying. Sorry gentlemen, I know, I started lactating on air, and [I started] crying.”
Meghan McCain Was Not Missed On The Show
If you can remember the clip, you’d notice that the moment Behar said McCain was not missed on the show, McCain was a little put off by it, but if she did cry, she didn’t do it on camera, as she even managed a grim smile at Behar’s comments.
Continuing to recall the moment on the podcast, McCain said she returned to her office feeling like throwing up. She then called her brother and told him about the whole emotional episode, by which he advised her to quit the show. “I didn’t feel supported when I had my baby, and I didn’t feel supported coming back, and that was ultimately it,” McCain said. “That was why I left!”
To show just how deeply she feels about her time on The View, she revealed that she’d do anything to stop her daughter from being on the show, even if it meant lying in front of a train, that is, if it still happens to be around within 15 years.
On Thursday, The View announced McCain’s permanent replacement, confirming that Alyssa Farah Griffin will be joining as the conservative voice. Guest co-host Ana Navarro is also joining as a permanent member of the panel.
