Shania Twain Switches Record Labels And Drops New Music

Shania Twain is making big Queen moves, and she’s not scared to be the first artist joining a newly launched division of a major record label. This new chapter is going to be “exciting”, and fans are going to feel like they’re “Waking Up Dreaming”.
Shania Twain – Says She’s Embracing Her “New Chapter Wholeheartedly”
Five-time Grammy winner Shania Twain is vying for an epic return to country music charts. According to Billboard, the bestselling country singer, who dominated much of the 90s and early 2000s, has signed a deal with Republic Nashville, a division of Republic Records. Since releasing her eponymous debut album in 1993, Twain was with Mercury Nashville. Both Republic Nashville and Mercury Nashville are under the Universal Music Group umbrella.
“I couldn’t think of a better partner than Republic Nashville,” Twain said in a statement. “I’m honored and excited to be the label’s first artist and lead the charge of this new and exciting chapter. In this respect, it feels like a new beginning all around, and I’m embracing it wholeheartedly.”
Speaking about the deal with the “You’re Still the One” singer, Republic Records co-founder and CEO Monte Lipman, “Shania is one of the most influential and impactful artists of this generation. She’s a rare talent whose legacy continues to resonate throughout the world. We feel a tremendous amount of gratitude to support her new body of work, which is spectacular.”
Shania Twain – Releases First New Song In Five Years
Alongside the news of her signing on Friday, September 23, Twain released her first new single since 2017, titled “Waking Up Dreaming”. To complement the song, she released an Isaac Rentz-directed ’80s glam-rock inspired video, which saw Twain in teased hair, sparkles and dramatic, neon-colored makeup.
The new single is coming on the heels of Shania Twain’s documentary “Not Just A Girl”, which is now streaming on Netflix.

Twain was also recentlyhttps://twitter.com/SoapOperaSpy/status/1573450284243865623 honored with the ACM Poet’s Awards during the ACM Honors ceremony held in Nashville. Artists, including Kelsea Ballerini and Avril Lavigne, honored her with a performance of her hit songs during the event. Ballerini performed “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and Lavigne performed “No One Needs to Know.”
Across her career, Twain has topped the Billboard hot 100 thrice and gotten seven singles to No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs, with hits including “You’re Still the One” and “Any Man Of Mine”.
She has topped the all-genre Billboard 200 with two albums, with the latest being her 2017 album “Now”.
