Stephen tWitch Boss, beloved as the DJ for Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, stunned family and friends with his suicide. But this week, they sought to remember Boss at a memorial service. And it turned into an emotional scene with his wife Allison Holker sharing her memories.

More than 500 friends and family members gathered on Saturday, February 11 to remember Stephen tWitch Boss. And the Celebration Of Life service in Los Angeles featured the late DJ’s wife Allison Holker. However, her daughter Weslie, 14, joined her mother in speaking at the event, reported Us magazine.

And Holker asked those gathered at the event to remember the good. Calling her husband “the light,” Allison added, “He chose love, grace and kindness. And he deserves to be celebrated.” However, others showed their support in different ways. For instance, Mickey Guyton and Andy Grammer performed songs at the memorial service. And Bdash (real name James Derrick), Slavik Pustovoytov and Ceasare “Tighteyex” Willis paid tribute to Boss through dance.

Joe Smith, who serves as the family pastor, Joe Smith, took on the role of hosting the Celebration of Life. And the celebrity guests included Ellen DeGeneres, Wayne Brady, Loni Love, Jeff Thacker, Derek Hough, AJ McLean, and Robin Antin. In addition, many members of both the So You Think You Can Dance and the Ellen DeGeneres Show casts and crews participated in the event.

However, Holker shared her desire to do more to celebrate her late husband. And she joined her family in discussing their new foundation. Called the Move with Kindness Foundation, it “aims to carry on the legacy of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss by spreading love and mental health awareness.”

When news broke that Boss died from suicide at age 40 in December, Holker shared her heartbreak. And the 34-year-old Dancing With The Stars alum described herself as suffering from “the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.” But she also shared her positive memories.

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” shared Holker. And she described the late DJ as “the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. His positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”

Boss and Holker had talked about their romance in interviews. And Holker admitted that she made the first move. However, the DJ joked that he didn’t realize her attempts at romance initially. “But I caught on to something” at last, he added. And prior to his death, the two had even discussed the possibility of having more children. They welcomed their son Maddox in 2016 and daughter Zaia in 2019. And tWitch had adopted Allison’s child from a previous relationship.
