Taylor Swift – Related To Emily Dickinson

Taylor Swift penned a poem for the release of her album, Reputation. She released her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on Friday, April 19.

The 31-track project has already broken new records since its release. It sold over 2 million albums. In a timely fashion, it was reported that Swift is related to American poet Emily Dickinson.

Per a report via Today, the genealogy company Ancestry learned that Swift and Dickinson are sixth cousins, three times removed. That doesn’t mean much. However, they do have blood ties.

“Swift and Dickinson both descend from a 17th-century English immigrant (Swift’s 9th great-grandfather and Dickinson’s 6th great-grandfather who was an early settler of Windsor, Connecticut)…” Ancestry shared in a statement. “Taylor Swift’s ancestors remained in Connecticut for six generations until her part of the family eventually settled in northwestern Pennsylvania, where they married into the Swift family line.”

Taylor Swift dropped old-timey lines in her new songs. During her speech at the Nashville Songwriters Association International, Swift explained her genre which she calls “Quill.”

“If my lyrics sound like a letter written by Emily Dickinson’s great-grandmother while sewing a lac curtain, that’s me in the Quill genre,” she joked back in 2022.

Swifties noticed that she had read some of Emily Dickinson’s work. She made references in her surprise quarantine album, Evermore.

Also, the word “evermore” appears in the poem “One Sister Have I in Our House.” In addition, Evermore was released on December 10th, which is also Emily Dickinson’s birthday.

French Royal Ties

Taylor Swift is a self-proclaimed lover of British guys. But she has French ties. MyHeritage revealed that she is related to King Louis XIV of France. They are the eighth cousins, 11 times removed.

King Louis was known for living a lavish lifestyle. Swift is no secret to enjoying the finer things in life. She often travels the world on her private jet. She’s also been criticized for it.

Swift is now eyeing a new home that’s worth $1.1 billion, according to Forbes Rich List. It makes sense since she became a billionaire due to the sales of her Eras Tour.

However, Taylor Swift spends most of her time in New York City and Los Angeles. She’s racking up the miles of her private jet.
