Tom Holland Takes A Break From Acting

If you’ve watched Tom Holland in “The Crowded Room,” you’ll know that he put in a lot of work to be able to pull off his character’s emotional depth, and I’m not just talking about the long hair.

After that much exertion to bring his character, Danny Sullivan, to life, Holland reckons he needs a long break to recover.

Playing a person suffering from dissociative identity disorder onscreen hasn’t been easy, and to be that guy across several episodes definitely took its toll on Holland.

However, as he rests following the completion of the Apple TV+ series, fans can watch the show starting June 9 on the streaming platform.

Tom Holland – Reveals His New Role Required An “Extra Level Of Pressure”

Actors have done a lot of things to transition into the character they’ll play, from losing weight, building muscles, ceasing to exercise, and even maintaining an accent for several months on end – yes, I’m thinking about Austin Butler. But for Holland’s latest role, his physical strength wasn’t the only thing that was put to the test.

He was the show’s main star, as well as a producer, and juggling both duties was frankly taxing for him and demanded an “extra level of pressure“ from him.

“I’m no stranger to hard work,” he said. “I’ve lived by the idea that hard work is good work. Then again, the show did break me. There did come a time when I needed a break and disappeared and went to Mexico for a week and had time on a beach and laid low.”

He also shared the same sentiment back in February when he said, “I can confidently say that after I finish that TV show, I will be taking a break.”

Even though he didn’t make it clear whether he’d be taking a year off from both acting and producing, it’s pretty clear we won’t be seeing him back on our screens for more than a year. It’s likely his next role back would see him reprise his role as Marvel’s latest live-action Spider-Man, as, according to him, the script is already underway. He even shared the possibility that the writers could bring “Spiderverse’s” Miles Morales into his universe, which was something that excited fans.
