Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith began their evening at the Oscars 2022 looking forward to the glamorous celebration of Hollywood. From visiting with their A-list friends to their hope that Will would score an Oscar for Best Actor, the evening seemed so promising. But then in a matter of minutes, everything went horribly wrong. And since then, clips showing what happened when presenter Chris Rock mocked Jada’s bald head have gone viral.
In the wake of Will retaliating by leaping to the stage to slap Chris and then returning to his seat to curse Rock, Smith has experienced a flood of negative reactions. And Will tried to halt the fallout by resigning from the Academy. But now Smith still has a serious fear about his future. Learn more below.
Will Smith – Confesses Fear In Wake Of Chris Rock Scandal
As a result of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during the televised Oscars 2022, Smith worries about his future, an insider told Us magazine. “He feels terrible and is trying not to panic,” revealed the source. “But seeing his roles put on ice has been a hugely bitter pill to swallow.”
And the insider also shared Will’s biggest fear about his career. “His biggest fear is that he’s in the process of being fully canceled,” added the source. “And there’s nothing he can really do about it except sit back, suck up his punishment like a man and try to atone however he can.” But finding ways to get Hollywood to forget what happened may prove challenging.

Ever since the 53-year-old actor slapped the 57-year-old comedian at the 94th annual Academy Awards, a backlash has grown rather than diminished. Some may argue that Rock joking about Jada’s shaved head seemed rude. But Chris reportedly did not know that she suffers from a condition causing hair loss. And moreover, no one seems to find a way to re-frame Will’s slap as justified.
Chris Rock, Will Smith – Take Different Paths To Moving Forward
For Will Smith, moving forward means making amends. And he began the same night, apologizing during his acceptance speech for his Best Actor award. “I’m being called on in my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my people. I know to do what we do, you got to be able to take abuse,” stated Will, hinting that he should not have retaliated by slapping Chris Rock.
But Smith apologized more directly the next day. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” wrote Will on his Instagram. And the actor also apologized to the Academy. “I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” added Smith.

However, Will’s apologies did not help the fallout. For instance, some of Smith’s projects at both Netflix and Sony reportedly both landed on the back burner. As a result, the actor went further, resigning from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
But in contrast, Chris Rock took a different approach to putting that slap in the past. During a recent stand-up performance, Rock joked about the scandal, revealed an insider. “Chris broke the ice by sarcastically saying he’s had an interesting week,” shared the eyewitness. “Everyone laughed because they knew what he was referring to, of course.”

I hope not, what he did were wrong, he should have talked to him about his wife after, no one new about her hair, Rock tells jokes ,will tells jokes also ,will has to live with that from now on, a lesson learned, But Rock is a good guy, God bless both of this, we all have made mistakes, God is a forgiven God. I wish them both the best of luck.
No he's an excellent actor and human being that makes mistakes. I'm sure he realizes his mistake and it will never happen again.
My thoughts: Will had never done anything like this before, and he's beating up himself for reacting instead of being proactive. To over punish someone is just as bad as what Will did. Two wrongs don't make a right, I'm sure that's why Chris didn't react. Chris took it like a man because in the end he'll come out on top and alright but it didn't stop the embarrassment at the time. I pray that the two awesome men will forgive and make it right with each other teaching other black men that when you make a mistake Get it right and move forward with much peace and love. I'm a fan and I love both Will and Chris!
Yes
It doesn't work that way, it is easier to say than done. You can't correct a fool at 40s, he dies with it.
No I don't think so, rock had no business dissing the man's wife,in front all their friends and colleagues he got off lucky, you can get serious injuries talking about a man's spouse or Lady friend, the acamedy needs to no about his feelings at the time of his actions.
He should have approached him backstage like a man. Now he must fact the consequences of his action. Everything has a cause and affect. On top of all that his wife Jadea threw him under the bus with her comment, saying that she didn't need him to protect her. Was that not a slap in his face, figuratively speaking.
I thought Will Smith was protecting his wife. Am I wrong? Words hurt more than slaps.
Yes he did, but in my opinion
All he did shouldnt be swept under the rug for a human mistake
Hollywood is going to far..showing no appreciation for will and all hes done for the industry
I would have probably done the same thing. He was defending his wife and her ellness both men was in the wrong need to apologize to each other and let it go.
No i don't think so because he is a good comedian and acter.
