The actress discussed her character on a segment of Good Morning, Britain. Lipman admitted that she is worried about the direction Evelyn is going. The acting veteran explained that writers are trying to give Evelyn a new side to her, but Lipman prefers the “old Evelyn.” The actress said

“I am not keen on [the] idea of softening her. I think it is a good balance to have someone who can speak her mind… She is formidable and I think she should stay formidable.”

Even though the filming business is starting to get back to work, senior citizens are not yet allowed to be on set. However, there is hope that the soap will find a way to bring veteran characters back on our TV screens while still adhering to the new safety rules.
