Sally Dynevor, of Coronation Street, is reportedly set to exchange the cobbles to an ice rink next year to join as one of the candidates on ITV’s “Dancing on Ice.”
ITV has confirmed that its reality show, “Dancing on Ice” will return for a 14th series in January 2022, although it is yet to be confirmed that Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will remain as hosts.
A representative from “Dancing On Ice” said the show will announce the lineup in due time when asked about the speculations regarding Sally’s involvement in the contest. It is after an insider told The Sun that the legendary Corrie star has been “hitting the ice rink most Sundays” as part of her training to join the 2022 lineup.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Sally Dynevor Ready Now
“ITV have been keen to get Sally on the ice for a number of years and she has tried out in the past, but they haven’t been able to make it work. She’s finally ready to do it now though and is already taking it very seriously,” the source disclosed.
Sally has been portraying her sassy but goodie character Sally Metcalfe in Corrie for over three decades, which qualified her to receive an MBE in the 2021 New Year Honours for services to drama.
Sally’s daughter, Phoebe Dyvenor, is also now a “household name” for starring as Daphne Bridgerton in the Netflix period drama series “Bridgerton” which the insider pointed as the perfect timing for Sally to join the intense reality show.

If ever the reports about Sally are true, it wouldn’t be the first time that a Corrie actor has put on that figure skates to bust a groove on ice as Sally’s co-stars, Samia Longchambon, Faye Brookes, and Lisa George took part in the show in different years.
Samia Longchambon, who played as Maria Connor, took to the ice in 2013 and was paired together with her now husband, French professional ice skater Sylvain. The two fell in love with each other after getting to know each other intensely and for building a lot of trust, as Samia revealed while in the competition.

Lisa George, who was known for playing Beth Sutherland in Corrie, made it to quarter finals on the celeb skating contest last year but was voted off after her showdown against sprinter Libby Clegg.
While Faye Brookes, who was famous for playing Kate Connor back in 2015 and won the Best Newcomer award at the 22nd National Television Awards in 2017, almost bagged the glass trophy this year’s “Dancing on Ice” series before it was given to the winner Sonny Jay.
Viewers of the ice skating competition are hoping to see less drama next series as its latest season was forced to end a week earlier due to COVID-related exits and many injuries in the show.
