Corrie Spoilers – ITV Spokesperson CoAnd Corrie Boss Speak Out About Pandemic In Soap

An ITV spokesperson stated to Digital Spy, “We’d appreciate the audience respecting that new episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale were recorded before the recent health and safety legislation. Some scenes will be out of kilter with what is happening in the real world.” Many of the episodes were shot in June so some rules and changes that are made in real life will not be seen in the show immediately. However, the show bosses ask for understanding from their viewers.

Iain MacLeod, Corrie’s boss, recently stated, “In episodes from July 24, they are the first ones where they acknowledge the pandemic there. It’s just like the flip of a switch. I think the audience understands and will go with it. Very quickly, we’re into a post-pandemic world and I am sure there will be continuity comments but we have a mature audience who will understand.”
