Coronation Street Spoilers: Abi Webster Abandons Baby After Shocking Twist

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that Abi Webster will do a runner after giving birth to her shocking premature baby.

The ITV soap had unveiled a shocker twist for Abi (Sally Carman) in its rare Sunday night’s episode which saw her agonized in pain in intense scenes with her dodgy friend, Dean Turnbull (Anthony Crank) while they were in the woods.

Dean pulled over the stolen car after Abi screamed in pain while experiencing contractions, which he mistakenly presumed she was having a drug overdose so he left her alone on the roads to die. However, it was revealed that Abi was giving birth to a 6-month-old baby when she was able to call an ambulance for help.

Happening next on Corrie, Abi makes a devastating decision after giving birth to a baby boy in the hospital, thinking that she has nothing to offer the child because she’s messed up.

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – “Full of Shame”

“Coronation Street” award-winning actress Sally Carman has spoken with the media to reveal what’s ahead for her long-suffering character after the baby twist aired.

She detailed Abi will go with a false name at the hospital because “she’s full of shame” and is worried that the hospital will call the police because she’s high on drugs.

For the same reason that she abandoned the twins, Abi does a runner because she knows she’s not capable of looking after the child properly.

“From her point of view, she has already failed this baby by wrecking the start of his life. In her head, she’s got nothing to offer him,” Sally told Digital Spy.

The actress acknowledged that her premature labor might have been triggered because Abi has been taking drugs. Now, she’s homeless and her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) has given up on her. “So what can she possibly do for this child, other than give him a chance by giving him up?” she added.

Abi returns to Weatherfield in an attempt to escape reality by just carrying on with what she was doing before.

However, the actress hinted that Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) is the father of the child, after their passionate night while Seb Franklin’s murder case was developing.

Sally said Abi doesn’t want Imran to get involved at this point as she feels guilty to Toyah (Georgia Taylor) who has really helped her recently. Although she promises Imran that she’ll keep the secret to save Toyah from heartbreaks, secrets have a surprising way of coming out on Corrie.

“There haven’t been many people like that, who go the extra mile for her. She’s blown away by Toyah’s kindness and generosity. That becomes a massive part of all this – and it’s a big problem,” Sally said.
