Coronation’ Street: Cherylee Houston Coronation Street spoiler and updates reveal Corrie has confirmed Izzy Armstrong is set to return on the soap with a special one-off appearance.

Cherylee Houston portrays Izzy Armstrong and her character was last seen in June. She wasn’t able to return to work since the pandemic.

Her fans will be happy to know that their beloved character will appear in a creative way. Cherylee will relive Izzy’s character via video call. She will appear on the scene updating the other characters about her wellbeing since the pandemic.

This character update will reveal her storyline that she’s still in Weatherfield, staying healthy and safe at home.

Although her appearance is short this time, the star has previously stated her desire to return to the soap when it’s already safe to do so.

Coronation’s Street Spoilers – Safeguarding At Home

The actress was diagnosed with the rare connective tissue disorder, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, after graduating from Arden School of Theatre in Manchester at the age of 23. She has been confined to a wheelchair ever since, but it doesn’t hinder her passion for acting.

The actress has been safeguarding at home for the entire COVID-19 pandemic due to health concerns.

The “Coronation Street” series is aimed at raising Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Awareness in the UK. Cherylee is the first character with a disability in the soap that appeared in 2010. Leaving a remarkable impression, she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2010 Inside Soap Awards.

Coronation’s Street Spoilers – Beyond Disabilities

Cherylee started the arts organization Triple C: The Creative Confidence Collective. It was co-founded by Melissa Johns (also a Coronation Street actress who played Imogen Pascoe). They started with the motto “To Never Leave Anyone Behind” with the goal of giving access to young and adult budding performers with disabilities. The company is working to change how society perceives such artists/performers in the industry.

Ged Mulherin (Actor and Workshop Leader), Lydia Mulherin (Project Co-ordinator), Monique Jarrett (Project Facilitator) and Jenny Scott (Access Advisor) have joined the team.

As part of the Triple C’s project, they have created The Disabled Artists Networking Community (DANC) in the UK. DANC is a regular networking event that serves as a safe space for dialogues between performers with disabilities and theatres, television companies, arts organizations, arts venues, and professional artists from all walks of the creative industry.

Cherylee recently tweeted DANC and Stopgap’s dance event. Both organizations have partnered to run a series of sessions online. The actress tweeted: “We are looking to connect with more Deaf and Disabled Dancers.”
