Corrie spoilers reveal that the website reported Lipman’s exit as confirmed, but if read the post carefully, quotes are not cited. Who made the quotes? Where were they published? Can we get an url or at the very least, the name of the source? The “report” didn’t include either. Now that doesn’t mean it wasn’t said, just that it can’t be verified.

Most likely, the “report” is a mixture of fact and fiction. I’m the first person who loves to speculate, but it’s important to make that clear when writing. To blatantly use a theory and state it as fact makes it difficult for viewers to trust anyone. Then to ignore the very basics of ethical writing is a big no-no in my book. It can also get you sued!

The only part of the post that is cited is a partial quote from Lipman to Prima magazine. But it had nothing to do with her exit or even a current storyline. She was talking about the excitement and anxiety about joining the soap.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Arthur Medwin’s Deception

The rumor was based on an upcoming storyline featuring Evelyn. After discovering Arthur Medwin (Paul Copley) was married, Evelyn was furious. Arthur tried to explain that his wife had a stroke four years ago. The medical crisis would change things forever. Arthur’s wife lays lifeless in a hospital bed. Even though she was already “dead” to him, Evelyn can’t forgive the deception.

Arthur tries to get Evelyn back, but she’s not interested. The damage has been done and it would be difficult for her to forget about his lie. She takes his gift and walks out the door without a moment of hesitation.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Autumn 2021 Storylines Not Written Yet…

Apparently, there is a rumor that Arthur’s wife has died. Evelyn feels guilty about how she treated him and apologizes for her behavior. Okay, this is the complete opposite of Evelyn’s character so we call bull. But for the sake of argument, let’s say it does happen this way. The report then goes on to say that far into the future there will be a new development. In autumn 2021, Arthur is moving to Canada and insists Evelyn has to go with him. Coronation Street spoilers allege that Evelyn seriously considers his offer and it will be her “stunning exit.”

Just FYI… Corrie doesn’t write storylines one year in advance. That’s right, autumn 2021 scripts haven’t even been written yet!

Coronation Street Spoilers – New Contract Signed

The biggest clue about this “report” though, is the fact that Lipman just signed a new contract. Last month, the actress inked a deal to stay on board as Evelyn until 2022. So, while Evelyn could leave in a year, she is a fan-favorite and we don’t see this happening. We know characters can change a lot in a year, but the only way Lipman would leave is if they turned Evelyn into a weak pile of mush.

She has made it clear in previous interviews that she likes Evelyn’s no-nonsense and no-BS personality. She also expressed that it would be a sad day if they “softened” her too much. She was already having issues with Evelyn going soft during her romance storyline. The fact that writers split up the couple after Lipman’s interview suggests soap bosses are listening. So, to summarize, Lipman’s exit is not “confirmed.” In fact, we are betting that Evelyn has forgotten all about Arthur by autumn 2021 and will be involved in new storylines.
