Coronation Street Spoilers: Daniel Brocklebank Explains Todd Grimshaw’s Shocking Return

ITV Coronation Street star, Daniel Brocklebank, recently had a discussion about Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) return to Coronation Street this year. The role of Todd Grimshaw will be picked up by Gareth Pierce. This week, Billy Mayhew (played by Daniel Brocklebank) will find out that there is a letter from Todd. This letter is asking for £1,000 from Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) and that he wants it to be hidden in the Victoria Gardens.

When he asked about how he thinks that his character feels or may react when he learns about Todd being in Weatherfield, Brocklebank goes on to say, “I think he’s angry, but then on some level, relieved that he’s okay. More so for Eileen’s sake because it’s her son. Billy wants to get to the bottom of this for Eileen as she is still away visiting Jason. Billy has moved on. He’s with Paul now and Paul has moved in, and they are a little family with Summer.”

He goes on to say that Billy is happy that Todd is back but only for Eileen’s sake. However, on his own, he is still very upset. “So, for Eileen’s sake, Billy is relieved but still very angry at Todd for leaving them all in the way that he did and for everything he put Summer through. And even now, Todd is playing games, or so it seems. Why send a letter? Why not just come and see them?”

This follows after Billy and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) (think that the body found in the river is Todd’s body and becomes worried about if he is alive or not. “It’s terrifying when they are scouring the website for info and see that a body has been found in the canal, particularly as some personal effects of Todd’s were found near the canal. You can play a line a million ways, but I chose to make it quite obvious that regardless of the history, Billy still cares deeply for him, even if it’s not romantic.”

When asked about how Billy may feel running into Todd once again he stated, “It’s a mixed bag of emotions, and realistically he’ll want answers. Once they’ve established that he’s alright, Billy is going to want to know what the bloody hell has been going on!”
