Corrie spoilers reveal that Todd’s exit story wasn’t explained right away. The character was written out of the storylines when actor Bruce Langley was convicted of two counts of sexual assault. As for the character of Todd Grimshaw, he just vanished from the canvas, which led to questions from viewers.

In 2017, Geraldine Spellman (Lynne Verrall) tried to get custody of her granddaughter. So, Todd kidnapped Billy Mayhew’s (Daniel Brocklebank) goddaughter, Summer Spellman (Matilda Freeman). Summer ended up returning and Todd was found by officers. He ended up assaulting a police officer, which compelled him to go on the run by himself.

Nobody has heard from Todd since he went on the run three years ago. If he’s coming back now, then there must be a good reason for it. Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Todd has only been name-dropped a few times since his exit three years ago. However, in March 2020, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) admitted to Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) that the reason she was feeling blue was because of her son. At the time, Eileen said,

“Every Mother’s Day or birthday it’s the same. I think this will be the time I hear from him but I never do of course.”

Todd Grimshaw is confirmed to come back on the ITV soap next week. What happens is Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) open up a letter from Todd. However, one person worries it could be a trap, so they brainstorm a way to find out.

It is teased that there will be several months of mystery and intrigue. They eventually do locate Todd when he finally comes out of hiding. He explains where he has been holed up, as well as why he has to get that money
