As for Paul, he was in a relationship with Billy, and the two really loved each other (and still do). However, Todd came back after being MIA for three years. Once he came face to face with the lover he left behind, he schemed to get back together with Billy. It didn’t matter that Billy didn’t want anything to do with him. Todd saw what he wanted and was going to do whatever it took to get it. Since then, we have seen Todd’s schemes to break up Billy and Paul get more extreme.

When Billy broke up with Paul, it was due to Todd setting up the break-in. However, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) got hit by a car when she came home early and interrupted the scheme-in-progress. Billy dumped Paul because Summer’s safety had to come first unaware that it was actually Todd’s doing.

By the time Billy realizes the truth about the break-in, he’ll probably reach out to Paul. He will apologize, beg for forgiveness, and want him back. However, there is a chance that Paul could move on by then. He will simply be too late and in a way, Todd’s extreme scheme both worked and failed at the same time.
