ITV Coronation Street Spoilers – Who Is Nicky Wheatley?

Corrie spoilers reveal that we are just getting to know Nicky, the sex worker that Daniel met while at a party. The widow assumed she was a lawyer because that’s who everyone else was at the social gathering. He didn’t find out her true profession until later when she started rattling off her rates.

However, there is more than meets the eye with Nicky. We are going to get to know her and how she will affect Daniel’s story.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Hart-Simpson was concerned about her role at first. It wasn’t Nicky being a sex worker, but how it would affect safety protocols after the lockdown was lifted. She worked so hard to get on the soap and snag this role that she didn’t want to lose it due to the pandemic. However, now she knows a bit more about Nicky’s story and it seems we are all going to be surprised.

The actress also noted that Nicky represents a real woman and she hopes that she plays it right. She seemed to hint that Nicky is a unique woman with her own reasons for getting into this line of work. Nicky’s job does not define her as an individual and has nothing to do with her true character.

Coronation Street spoilers suggest that when people find out about Daniel’s new friend, there could be a backlash. It seems the soap plans on tackling that stereotype and the prejudice that Nicky could face. Hart-Simpson explained,

“I love that Coronation Street is playing with the perception of what a sex worker looks like, and trying to take down that stereotype.”

Previously, the actress explained that Nicky was attracted to Daniel. She knows bad guys and has dealt with many of them. She can sense that Daniel is one of the good guys.

It is teased that while Daniel pays for Nicky’s time now, that could change. The two might end up developing a real friendship. But will it evolve into something romantic? The actress couldn’t say, but she certainly hopes so.
