Many times, when they finally stand up for themselves or try to escape, they are made out to be the villains. And yes, even by the police and courts that are sworn to protect victims.

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that we are going to learn about Geoff’s past, especially his other relationships. This includes the one he had with Tim’s mother. According to Digital Spy, executive producer Iain MacLeod confirmed this branch of the storyline and its importance.

“When we considered the Geoff story, we thought it would be highly unlikely that this is the first time Geoff had exhibited these behaviors in a relationship.”

MacLeod added that in their research on abuse, they found that there is a pattern of behavior. It rarely just starts one day out of the blue. Most of the time, they have controlled and abused in their past relationships.
