Corrie spoilers reveal that Lipman’s debut as Evelyn Plummer in 2018 was not the first time the actress was in the ITV soap opera. Back in 2002, she appeared in six episodes as Lillian Spencer. Evelyn is spunky, a genuine spitfire and we love her no-nonsense attitude. She’s definitely rough around the edges, which makes her relatable and real. Even though she isn’t “soft” like some other characters, she is a fan-favorite.

According to Metro, Lipman has signed a contract to stay on the soap until the end of 2021. That means we are going to see a lot more of her.

Lately, the majority of her scenes revolved around a romance which ended up with a shocking bombshell and heartbreak for Evelyn. She also seemed to be the only person to immediately recognize Jade Rowan (Lottie Henshall) as a vengeful schemer.

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that a source told The Sun that producers are thrilled that they have Lipman for another year on the soap. A source explained that not only did the actress achieve fan-favorite status almost immediately, but few people can match her comic timing.

A source also stated that there is quite a bit planned for Evelyn in 2021. Expect her face to be part of some major drama that goes down. The insider teased, “She is certain to be at the centre of plenty more drama on the cobbles until winter 2021 – at least.”

We are looking forward to seeing more of Dame Maureen Lipman as Evelyn Plummer!
