Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) hopes that his ex is doing okay. When he sees Simon Barlow (Alex Bain), he asks about the grieving mother. Nick doesn’t realize it, but he’s really throwing a lifeline to Simon. He can take it and get Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) real help. Instead, he covers for Leanne despite the fact that he’s drowning.

Corrie spoilers reveal that when Simon found Leanne hiding in Nick’s flat, she begged him not to tell anyone. He decided to keep her secret even after Leanne overdosed on sleeping pills. As we mentioned at that time, Leanne is an adult and even though she’s grieving, she cannot expect to put her load on a boy’s shoulders. He’s a kid and can’t be expected to know when to just let Leanne go through the grieving process or to call someone for help.

Coronation Street Spoilers –  Situation Gets Worse

Things will get worse when Leanne quits her job, forcing Simon to keep the lights on by delivering drugs. Next, Leanne will “need” to see a psychic about Oliver Battersby (Jeremiah and Emmanuel Cheetham). So, that will put even more pressure on Simon to come up with the money. The teen is drowning mentally and emotionally. He needs to process his greif too but can’t because of how it might affect Leanne.

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Nick runs into Simon and asks how Leanne is doing. Nick has no idea just how much Simon needs a lifeline. Nick’s providing one, but the teen has to open up about what’s going on. Instead of telling Nick the truth about Leanne’s struggles and how everything is on his shoulders, Simon keeps quiet and says everything is fine.

Inside Soap magazine explained that Simon doesn’t admit the truth to Ben or go to another adult because of his loyalty. He made Leanne promises and tried to be there for her. Even though that is admirable, Simon will continue struggling. As things spiral out of control, both with Leanne’s grief and Simon delivering drugs, we don’t see a good outcome. Simon will end up in a lot of hot water and not know how to get out of it. The situation will get even more dangerous and volatile.

We hope that Nick or another adult will sense that something isn’t right and do some snooping. However, it doesn’t appear that happens. In the 2021 preview, producer Iain MacLeod said that Leanne will learn that Simon’s in a terrible situation. She has to push down her grief, put on her armor, and deal with the drug deals threatening Simon. Let’s just hope that it’s not too late to save Simon. We don’t just mean physically, the kid is drowning mentally and emotionally. He’s also dealing with Peter Barlow’s (Chris Gascoyne) alcohol addiction and liver failure. Simon is having to try and cope with his father’s suicide note and violent behavior on top of Leanne’s issues. Someone needs to step in before Simon’s pressure comes out in unexpected and tragic ways.
