Coronation Street Spoilers: Police Begin Doubting Geoff – Second Story Is A Bit Different

ITV Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal that the police are starting to doubt Geoff Metcalfe’s (Ian Barthomolew) version of events. This is because after he is asked to repeat what happened that fateful night, his second story is a bit different than the first. He is beginning to raise red flags and doesn’t even realize it. Could the police finally look at him a bit more closely?

Corrie spoilers reveal that after being attacked, starved, coerced, and controlled by Geoff, Yasmeen was arrested for attempted murder. However, the police don’t have all the facts. Even though she has been charged, that doesn’t mean the investigation is over. Especially since Geoff goes to the police to make a confession.

As fans recall from a recent episode, Geoff went to the police to confess that he saw escorts. When asked why he was coming forward with this information, he really couldn’t give a good answer. The police suggested that he probably wanted to admit it before it came out in court. When this was brought up, Geoff just ran with it and agreed.

Geoff Metcalfe Asked To Go Over Story Again

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that during that police station visit, Geoff was asked to go over the entire chain of events that took place that night once again. Now, when law enforcement does this, it’s usually to compare the story versions. Normally, it is due to them suspecting that something isn’t quite right. Comparing the two stories is one tactic police use to determine if someone is being honest or not.

While it’s normal for a victim to remember additional information later, the chain of events doesn’t really change. One thing that liars do is they remember the “big” chunks of a story, but the tiny, insignificant details will often be changed. Police are trained to look for inconsistencies in these “tiny, insignificant” details. It can rip apart a story, which can lead them to the truth, a continued investigation, or even reopening a previously closed case.

It is highly likely that when Geoff was asked to “just go over the entire story again,” it was for a reason. The law enforcement officer sees a red flag and suspects that something is off. Will she end up investigating further?

It’s one thing for Yasmeen to be declared not guilty, but it doesn’t put Geoff away. What needs to happen is that Geoff needs to be arrested, charged, and convicted. That can only happen if they have a confession or evidence. Let’s hope that the police will look into this further.
