ITV Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Roy Cropper (David Neilson) allowed Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) to move in with him. However, she needs someone to help care for her and keep her safe due to her brain injury. It might turn out to be too much for the older gentleman.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Shona Ramsey’s Brain Injury
During the Christmas shooting storyline, Shona was struck by a bullet and was comatose. David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) kept holding onto hope she would wake up. Well, she did regain consciousness but she wasn’t the same. She ended up with partial amnesia, where one loses a portion of their memories rather than not remembering anything.
Moving In With Roy Cropper
After being discharged from a rehab center, she didn’t want to go live with a husband she has no memory of. However, she seemed to feel safe and comfortable around Roy, even though she doesn’t recall knowing him. David suggested that Roy invite Shona to move in and reluctantly, he agreed.
It is speculated that Roy is dismal about the prognosis because he knows that Shona probably will never fully recover. He also has cared for a sick loved one before when his wife was diagnosed with cancer. He is aware of the toll that Shona’s condition is having on David.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Shona Ramsey Under Pressure To Remember
Right away, it became clear that memory wasn’t Shona’s only issue. She received a bad burn injury taking food out of the oven with her bare hands. So, she needs to have some level of supervision and one to teach her basic life skills. She also needed someone to help her track medication and keep her busy with daily tasks. It’s a full-time job.
There is also dealing with Shona feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. The more David tries to “trigger” her memories, the more pressure it puts on her. In some cases, it can actually have the opposite of its intended effect.

Stress-Induced Disease
According to Express, Brain Injury Matters confirmed that being a caregiver to someone with a brain injury can take its toll. Stress doesn’t just have a negative impact on one’s mental health. It can also manifest itself in physical ways, which lead to health problems.
Considering Roy’s advanced age and the stress of caring for Shona, could it end up affecting his health? Will he be the next character to suffer a tragic health crisis?
