Coronation Street Spoielrs – Sally Metcalfe’s History With Domestic Violence

Many years ago, Sally was in a relationship with a man named Greg Kelly (Stephen Billington). Speaking with Inside Soap magazine, the actress talked about the horrendous storyline. It left the character battered physically but inadvertently caused the actress to be battered emotionally.

It is due to her history of being abused that she suspects that something isn’t quite right with Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew). She is starting to doubt that Geoff is the real victim in this case. This, along with Alya sharing details with Sally could have the woman switching sides.

As fans know, Alya has been trying to prove that Geoff is a monster. That has morphed into a quest for justice once Yasmeen was arrested for attempted murder. Sally is beginning to see the light and will probably take Yasmeen’s side once the trial begins.

As Sally realizes that Yasmeen is the true victim in all of this, it might drive a wedge between the couple.

The actress talked about if Sally would be willing to risk her marriage to defend Yasmeen. According to Metro, she certainly would because it’s the right thing to do.

“I think she would be prepared to risk it as, how could she live with someone who is not accepting of some of the issues that have been raised about Geoff? So, I think Sally would go far to defend Yasmeen because she is so upset about it and determined to help her at the detriment of her own relationship. She says to Ayla at one point, what about my relationship, but the more time goes on the more she is thinking I’m going to do everything I can for Yasmeen and Tim is going to have to come to the realization that his father is an abuser.”

With that being said, how far will Geoff go to protect his secret and continue villainizing the victim? We can already see hatred in Geoff’s eyes every time he looks at Sally. Would he go as far as to kill her? We will have to keep watching the soap opera to find out how this story ends.
