Coronation Street Spoilers: Should Tony Gordon Take Gary WIndass’ Place As The Bad Guy On The Cobbles?

ITV Coronation Street spoilers tease that when it comes to villains, the cobbles has seen more than its fair share. There is Gary Windass (Mikey North) and before him Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre). Right now Gary is in a front-burner plot but there is a former villain who fans still love to hate, Tony Gordon (Gray O’Brien).

He appeared on the ITV soap from 2007 to 2010 and he met his maker when Carla Connor (Alison King) shot him and he then burned to a crisp in the factory explosion. Now fans of the sudser are putting forth a stunning theory about how Tony could have survived the fire, which would allow for his return.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Tony Gordon Supposedly Dies But Did He Really?

When the question, “What past Corrie villains would you bring back?” was posted on a DS Forum many fans mentioned Tony Gordon.

One posted, “Would like a twist where he survived the factory explosion and has been on the run for over a decade, and went under a new identity. He started his life back up again, and decides to return to Coronation Street to settle things with Carla and Maria.”

It was noted that the body could have been someone else’s, not Tony’s and that fans did not actually see him bite the dust onscreen.

But at least one fan threw water on the fire so to speak by posting, “No characters back from the dead, please. That always takes it into the farcical territory. There was a reason those villains were killed.”

Tony owned Gordon’s Catalogues and offered Carla a contract for Underworld. When he discovered that Carla was having an affair he hit the roof and began to think about how to take out her lover.

In the end, Tony did not kill Carla’s lover but he arranged for someone to run him over. Later, during the soap’s Siege Week, Tony killed again, this time one of his henchmen.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Tony Gordon Went On A Killing Spree

Soaps are infamous for return from the dead plots so if the sudser so desired, bringing Tony back would be easy-peasy. After all, bad guy Pat also returned from the dead!

Now would be a good time to bring Tony back as Carla is with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne). Would you want him to come back with amnesia or with a brand-new secret identity and appearance? If Gary leaves the cobbles, as some are speculating, would you want Tony to take his place as the resident bad guy?
