Coronation Street Spoilers: Show Bosses Panicking Over shortage Of Episodes Amid Coronavirus Lockdown

“Coronation Street’s” Beverley Callard revealed that the show bosses are “panicking like mad” for a possible shortage of new episodes to air amid the coronavirus lockdown. The sudser stopped filming scenes last March over safety concerns, as the country deals with the effect of the pandemic.

Even though the production of the show has been halted, the show continues to air new episodes, albeit on a reduced schedule. Viewers are given three installments instead of six every week. But with the rate things are going right now in terms of the pandemic, it doesn’t seem like the show will resume filming anytime soon.

Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Brown and Beverly Callard who plays Liz McDonald talked about what’s happenings behind the scene. In an interview with Radio 5 Live, McAlpine emphasized that their “bosses are working hard every day assessing the situation.”

Coronation Street Spoilers – Writers Will Be Ecstatic To Write New Storylines

“And they’re panicking like mad, aren’t they? But, of course, you can’t not,” Callard added.

“Even if it does come to an end and we run out of episodes, the writers will be going mad, they will be excited to create new storylines and everything,” she added.

“Because we’ve got a massive team of writers, so they will keep it going,” she continued.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Missing Regular Schedules

The viewers aren’t the only ones who are adjusting to the new schedule. McAlpine admitted that she once sat down in front of the TV hoping she’ll catch up with what’s happening on the cobbles, only to find out that it wasn’t on air.

“I keep putting it on at half-eight, but then I think, “Oh no, Corrie‘s not on”,’ she added. ‘They’ve limited our Corrie output now, so there’s only three on instead of six,” the actress said.

She understands that viewers may be missing the three episodes. But that means the sudser will remain on air a bit longer.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Upcoming COVID-19 Storylines

The lockdown in the U.K. has been extended by three weeks as the coronavirus death toll reaches the 14,000 marks. Also, viewers can look forward to COVID-19 storylines once the show gets the green light to restart its production, according to “Coronation Street’s” Colson Smith.

Smith made the revelation during an interview with Lorraine Kelly. The actor behind the character Craig Tinker said writers will come up with new stories that involve the COVID-19 outbreak once they restart filming.

If the show bosses are worried about running out of episodes, imagine us fans. We are going to miss the show, and we will just have to sit back and wait to see what is going to happen with the storylines. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.
