Coronation Street Star Jamie Kenna Sets To Leave The Cobbles

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that the iconic Phill Whittaker will leave Weatherfield in future episodes. Previously on “Corrie,” Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna) was left with a heavy heart when he discovered that Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) still loves Tyrone (Alan Halsall). When the groom finally knew the truth, he vowed to give Fiz and Tyrone a hard time as he felt betrayed on the day of his wedding.

Amidst their intense scenes, the official Instagram account of “Coronation Street” posted a video of Jamie Kenna, announcing his exit from the soap. He filmed the video outside the antique shop, where his character first laid eyes on Fiz. However, when Fiz and Tyrone reunited, Phill couldn’t keep them apart anymore. Kenna also acknowledged Jennie McAlpine and Alan Halsall for being such great costars.

The iconic Phill Whittaker extended his gratitude to the avid supporters of the longest-running soap for showing love to his character. “I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the love and support for me and Phill. I’ve had an absolute blast,” Kenna said.

“I love this show. What a ride it’s been for big Phill with 2 Ls! Who knows, maybe it isn’t the end, maybe they’ll bring him back, but for now, it’s a massive goodbye from me. Sending loads of love and thank you to everyone at ‘Corrie,’ all of you guys for tuning in. Without you and without these guys at ‘Corrie,’ there’s no way I would’ve stayed as long as I have,” he continued.

As he ended his statement, Kenna invited everyone to always watch “Coronation Street” and keep the show alive. He also reminded everybody to stay safe and take care of themselves.
