Dancing With The Stars Fans Slam Julianne Hough For THIS Stupid Mistake!

Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) has struggled with hosts ever since producers fired fan fave Tom Bergeron. For instance, DWTS fans repeatedly slammed former host Tyra Banks until her abrupt exit. 

And now in her first year as the Dancing With The Stars co-host, Julianne Hough just made an embarrassing comment that sparked a social media backlash. Keep reading for all the details.

Trying to do her best as the new Dancing With The Stars host, Julianne Hough just made a humiliating mistake. And it sparked an immediate backlash on social media. Hough’s error came when the DWTS host was talking with contestant Barry Williams. And the former Brady Bunch actor reflected on how his co-star Florence Henderson inspired him, noted the Sun.

Barry, 69, performed a tango with his DWTS partner Peta Murgatroyd. And then, as arranged,Williams headed to the upper level stage to talk with Julianne, 35. But as the former Brady Bunch star waited for his score, Hough questioned him. 

And the Dancing With The Stars host questioned, “When you’re out there dancing, are you feeling something? Are you channeling something?” Emotionally, Barry revealed, “As a matter of fact, yes. Florence Henderson was on this show and she was a friend.” 

But Williams noted that his Brady Bunch co-star also served as a “mentor. And she is the one who encouraged me to do Dancing With the Stars so I’m feeling Florence here.” However, then Julianne made her embarrassing remark, stating, “Well I’m sure she is just rooting for you.”

DWTS – Social Media Slams Julianne Hough

However, DWTS viewers immediately turned to social media to slam the host. And they pointed out that Florence, who starred on season 11 of DWTS, died at age 82 in 2016. But after Hough referred to the former Brady Bunch actress as if she didn’t know that she had died, social media critics mocked her. 

For instance, one critic pointed out, “Florence is dead girl.” And another scolded, “Not Julianne not knowing Florence Henderson is dead.” One viewer even took time to alert Julianne, writing, “Florence Henderson passed away in 2016.”

But some suggested that producers take it on themselves to give Hough an update. For example, one posted on social media, “Someone let Julianne Hough know Florence Henderson is dead.” And another tried to interpret what the DWTS host meant. 

“Came to Twitter just to see if everyone was thinking what I was thinking. Maybe she meant Florence was rooting for Barry from Heaven?” questioned one fan. “The way she said, ‘I’m sure she’s rooting for you!’ to Barry sounded odd.”
