Dancing With The Stars Season 28 Spoilers: DWTS Drama Brewing – Fans React To Sean Spicer’s Casting

The new season of Dancing With The Stars hasn’t even started yet and it looks like there’s already some drama brewing behind the scenes! That’s because there aren’t many people that are pleased with the fact that former White House press secretary Sean Spicer has joined the cast for Season 28. As a matter of fact, host Tom Bergeron even had a few things to say about the controversial casting. Here’s what you need to know.

DWTS Spoilers -Tom Bergeron’s Thoughts

Even though Tom is the kind of host that likes to keep his personal opinions to himself (unless of course it’s a funny or lighthearted quip), he did feel the need to speak out about having Sean Spicer on the show. He explained that he had asked the ABC network for a joyful respite from the exhausting political climate that has taken over the media in recent months. He later found out that the network decided to go in a different direction and that for now they will “agree to disagree.”

With that said, it didn’t take long for Sean to respond to Tom’s comments. “I think Tom has been a great host. And I firmly believe when the season is over he’s probably going to realize bringing a diverse group of people together, who can interact in a fun, civil and respectful way, is actually a way we can move the country forward in a positive way,” he told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday, August 22.

Agree To Disagree

And just like Tom, Sean wants to agree to disagree as well. Sean added, “And it will make this show an example of how Americans can disagree about politics and tune into good entertainment shows and keep their politics at bay.”

Now, whether or not Sean will show off his fancy foot work on the dance floor enough to stay on the show past the first few episodes remains to be seen. While there are plenty of people who are opposed to his casting, he’s also got plenty of fans who are willing and ready to cheer him on. With that said, this is definitely going to be one of the most interesting seasons yet. We can’t wait! All of the action will begin Monday, September 16th.
