DWTS: Len Goodman Leaves The Show – Is That Why Tyra Mocked Him?

Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) Season 31 on Disney+ soon draws to a close. And with the finals next Monday, fans will also say goodbye to longtime judge, Len Goodman. While critics would have rather heard that Tyra Banks was leaving, she had the opportunity to announce Len’s departure. Probably, she already knew the reasons why he was leaving, so fans might suspect that’s why she mocked him a few weeks ago. 

DWTS – Tyra Banks Made A Lame Joke And Mocked Len Goodman

The first person to diss Len Goodman this season was Teresa Giudice from the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo. Actually, she seemed to think that if Len Goodman hadn’t been biased against her personally, she might have gone further.

Actually, calling him for not liking her seems a bit unfair, as he’s been very professional in his role as a judge since 2005. Actually, some people who get eliminated early sometimes point fingers at the pro-dancers and judges, but seldom at Len. 

DWTS fans were not expecting Tyra Banks would openly seem to mock Len. In fact, if there was to be a diss, fans might have expected it to come about Alfonso Ribiera who joined the show as a co-host this season. Anyway, there was no obvious unhappiness about Alfonso from Tyra and fans thought that she might have been read the riot act by Disney+ execs. However, she did see, to mock Len Goodman about his age. It came when  Charli D’amelio and Mark Ballas danced their Argentine Tango and Len raved about it. 

DWTS: Mocked For His Age – Did Tyra Nearly Spoil Len’s Retirement?

When Len praised Charli, fans thought that Tyra mocked Len and made fun of his age. At the time, he told Her, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Seemingly a bit irritated and angry, was he actually perplexed? Or, was he afraid that the host was about to spoil the news about his retirement? Perhaps we will never know.

But what we do know, is that he won’t return for another season. And one of the reasons he spoke about mentioned his age. At least he had the chance to talk about his retirement without too much commentary from Tya. 

Fans who watched the semifinals and who follow Dancing With the Stars on Twitter heard Len talk about leaving.  

DWTS fans saw that Tyra gave Len Goodman space to explain why he is retiring. Talking about the upcoming finals, he said, “There’s  a touch of sadness as this will be my last season.” After the audience gasped, he added that he’s looking forward to spending more time with his family and his “grandchildren.”

Ahead of the show, he told People Magazine that “as one gets older, then things start to get more challenging.” Referring to his age, he added, “I haven’t fallen asleep or started dribbling yet on the show, so I thought it’s best to go before I start to do so!”

Disney+ Fans React To The News

DWTS fans took to Twitter to comment about Len Goodman retiring. Most of them wished Len a great retirement and they will always remember him from the show. A few critics got a dig in at Tyra, wishing the Len could take her along retirement as well.
