Fans would recognize Days Of Our Lives alum Lisa Rinna’s hairstyle anywhere. But despite years of showing off her spiky signature hairdo, Rinna rarely discusses what motivated her to cut her hair so short. However, in a new interview via Us magazine, the Days Of Our Lives alum finally shared exactly how she developed her pixie cut with its signature spikes.

And Lisa revealed that she transformed her hair after a breakup. At the time, the Days Of Our Lives alum had enrolled in an acting class. “And I had just broken up with a boyfriend,” recalled the 59-year-old. “Someone sitting next to me had just cut their hair off.” 

And Rinna described her admiration for her classmate’s look. “I thought, ‘Oh my God, that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.’ I asked who cut her hair,” shared the Days Of Our Lives alum. “And [the stylist] came to my apartment. It was just one of those moments after a breakup where you change your look,” explained Lisa. “And I guess I never really went back. It just worked.”

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Lisa Rinna Becomes ‘Lip Pioneer’

However, Rinna also revealed how she became what she calls a “lip pioneer.” And the Days Of Our Lives alum recalled what motivated her to plump up her lips. “It was an absolutely stupid spur of the moment thing with my girlfriend,” confessed Lisa. “The movie Beaches had come out,” she added. “And Barbara Hershey had her lips done with collagen. That’s how it happened.”

Because Rinna views herself as “one of the first” to “enhance” her lips, she feels that she qualifies as a “lip pioneer. I was one of the first ones to do it and enhance my lips back in ’87.” But the Days Of Our Lives alum admitted, “I think in the beginning, it was frowned upon. Now, it’s accepted and everyone does it. You point out someone to me that has not augmented their lips in Hollywood and I will pay you money. It doesn’t exist, right?”

And Lisa believes so much in the power of plump lips that she created Lisa Rinna Beauty, featuring lip products. The Days Of Our Lives alum’s products include a Larger Than Life Lip Plumper. “I put this on top of the regular gloss and the lipstick and the line liner, or you can wear it alone,” she shared. “Or, you can wear it just over the lipstick or mix the two glosses together [because] it’s thin enough.
