Days Of Our Lives Cast Celebrates Bill Hayes’ 98th Birthday!

Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) actor Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) has starred on the soap opera for decades. And so when his wife Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Olson Williams) wanted a special way to celebrate his 98th birthday, she chose to do so with the Days Of Our Lives cast. And Susan, who portrays Bill’s love interest in the show, even arranged for a very special birthday cake to be delivered to the DOOL set.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Bill Hayes Turns 98!

Susan Seaforth Hayes faced a challenge in planning her husband Bill Hayes’ 98th birthday. After so many years together, the 79-year-old Days Of Our Lives actress wanted to do something extra special. And so with the help of their Days Of Our Lives co-stars and crew, Susan arranged to celebrate on the DOOL set. As the actress shared on Instagram, Susan arranged for a gorgeous personalized birthday cake. 

And Seaforth Hayes shared photos that included Bill admiring the cake with his wife. In addition to the Days Of Our Lives stars who play each other’s love interests, Billy Flynn, who plays Chad DiMera, admired the cake. But the sweetest image showed Susan and Bill holding hands. In her caption, Seaforth Hayes wrote,“Thank you to our cast and crew for celebrating Billy’s 98th Birthday on set today. And the double chocolate cake was delicious! ❤️.”

But Susan also proudly talked about her husband’s achievements. And she shared that Bill began his role on the show in 1970. However, the Days Of Our Lives star also revealed that her husband became “the first performer to sing on daytime television.” And whether singing or acting, Bill has “enjoyed every minute” of his career, she added via TV Insider.

DOOL Spoilers – Cast Sings Happy Birthday

But while Bill made history with his singing, the Days Of Our Lives cast gathered together to sing happy birthday to him. And Hayes participated in the moment, cheering and clapping for the cast. In addition to the celebration on set, some of his co-stars posted birthday wishes on social media.

For instance, Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady), wrote, “Love you!!!! Happy happy birthday!!!” And she praised Bill as a legend. But the actress also expressed appreciation to Hayes for inspiring her. “Your talent, love of life, and infectious happiness are inspirations to many, especially me!” she shared. And Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe Lane), added her own happy birthday wishes on social media. “Happy Birthday Bill! You’re a legend,” she gushed. “And I just adore you and Susan!”

In 2020, Bill celebrated his 50th anniversary starring in Days of Our Lives. And several years ago, the actor took home the Daytime Emmy’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his role as Doug Williams. His character and Susan’s character first kissed on Days Of Our Lives in July 1970. And the two actors tied the knot in 1974. Their Days Of Our Lives characters subsequently followed that cue, tying the knot on TV on October 1, 1976.
