Days Of Our Lives Production Halted, Why?

Days of Our Lives halted production and it’s not because of the ongoing writers’ strike, which has shut down Hollywood shows and movies. Viewers are wondering what’s going to happen to the Peacock soap. Keep on reading for the new details.

Days Of Our Lives Production Shutdown

Days of Our Lives fans first learned about the production shutdown earlier this week. This could affect future episodes of the daytime soap.

According to JustJared.com, DOOL is shutting down production due to an ongoing investigation involving co-executive producer/director Albert Alarr. Both the cast and crew are angry over what’s become a toxic work environment.

Alarr only received minor punishment for serious allegations that took place on the show. The long-running NBC soap was already on a short break for the summer. A representative for Peacock told Deadline that production was halted for another week. The suspension will only last for a week.

Days Of Our Lives

Days of Our Lives will resume production on July 31st and will go dark again on August 7. This comes ahead of Deadline’s report about the misconduct that took place on the set.

The outlet reported that close to 40 women were interviewed during this investigation. Alarr was accused of inappropriate physical contact with women, including kissing and groping.

He’s also been blamed for creating a toxic work environment for many years. DOOL fans have a feeling that he will step down this year and that will conclude the investigation.

Previously, Alaar received a warning and was only advised to undergo training. That was not enough and the allegations continued. The results were never shared with the cast and crew and they want answers.

DOOL Spoilers – Fans Sound Off On Investigation

Days of Our Lives and other daytime soaps survive on their fanbase. Some have already sounded off about this matter on the Soap Central Forums. They believe that Alarr should’ve been fired from his position especially when it came to the mounting allegations.

“Alarr better step down. The show doesn’t need to suffer because of him,” one fan noted. “I think he should be fired. If he did everything in the articles I’ve read, I’m surprised he’s still there,” another added. “Why don’t they fire Alarr and bring back Greg Meng? I never understood that firing,” a third user asked.

In the following weeks, the results from the DOOL investigation will hopefully come out. Hopefully, the cast and crew will get some answers as Alarr’s position remains unclear.
