Even though Gwen helped Kristen escape transferring to Statesville, she was coerced into it. There were several times when Gwen felt it would be better to confess, but Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) always stepped in to stop her. Even Gwen’s scheme to keep Sarah Horton (Linsey Godrey) from being rescued has filled the manipulator with massive guilt.

One interesting scene was when Ava wanted to kill Abigail. Gwen wouldn’t allow it to happen despite her feelings for Abigail. While Abigail’s life was spared by Ava, Kristen might have other ideas.

The weekly preview shows Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) will give up on the search for Sarah. Despite Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) warning about Gwen, Xander will continue believing in his girlfriend.

In fact, Xander proposes but the preview indicates Gwen says no. Knowing Xander, he will manage to get Gwen to say yes to getting married. It’s not that Gwen doesn’t want to, but her guilt is what’s stopping her from saying yes.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Ava has given up on being a new woman. Going back to her old ways, Ava is having way too fun with the Sarah mask. Ava also doesn’t seem to have any guilt over anything she’s doing, including framing Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).

Although Gwen is participating in Kristen and Ava’s schemes, it’s not exactly voluntary. Gwen is terrified of what Ava and Kristen will do to her if she refuses. However, that doesn’t mean they will get away with it. Gwen could betray Ava and Kristen by telling someone the truth.

Gwen has to be redeemed somehow. Saving two people that could destroy her life and happiness would be a way to do that. Gwen has hated Abigail ever since she discovered her sister’s existence. As for Sarah, that is the woman that holds the key to Xander’s heart. Even though it would be easy for Gwen to keep quiet, the guilt is getting too much for her.

It is teased in Soap Opera Digest that “everyone” ends up heading to the island. It begins with Chad and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), though. It is also suggested that Kristen and Abigail have a deadly confrontation during a failed escape attempt. Could Kristen be about to kill Abigail when Gwen shows up and intercepts? Could this be Gwen’s redemption, to sacrifice her own life to save Abigail and Sarah?
