Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease that Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) is upset with her old-fashioned dad, and even more with her tattletale brother. Why did Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) have to tell Wei Shin (Clyde Kusatsu) that they have a single man, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) as a roommate?

Wei chastises his daughter about Tripp, coming down for her for living with a “boy”, which astounds her, considering it’s not just her and Tripp living in the apartment. It’s her, Tripp, Li and Gabi Hernandez Shin (Camila Banus) who’s still legally married to Li, and he’s making it all about her and Tripp! Tripp isn’t just a “boy” he’s a grown man and a doctor at that, and they’re not even involved with each other, although Tripp might wish that they were.

What would her father say if it were Gabi’s brother, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) who’d moved in with them-would Wei call Rafe a “boy” too, and accuse about that? Wendy is lost why her old fashioned fuddy-duddy father is making such a big deal over nothing and complaining she’s brought shame to their family.

Wendy feels belittled and picked on the way it is, her father never did believe she could handle the job that Li finally gave her-before he got fired from DiMera. But, their culture traditionally has believed women were subservient, and treated as such, and Dad needs to get with the program and quit treating her like a Japanese geisha! Wendy isn’t into serving the males in her family and acting like they’re gods and she’s their servant and she doesn’t like men making her choices, roommate choices included.

Yes, she asked Tripp to move in, but she isn’t making the money even now that her male counterparts are – DiMera is such a patriarchal company. If she made what she knows she’s worth she wouldn’t have to have roommates-that’s one reason she’s bonded with Gabi, she supports her and she once owned her own company.

Wendy’s hackles are up when Wei threatens to overrule DiMera’s hiring her and send her back to Alaska to a remote office outpost, where there are no “boys”. She rebels and tells her father he wouldn’t dare, and he starts going off on her again, and asking her personal questions like if she’s sleeping with the “boy”. Luckily, Li comes in on the middle of the interrogation, and explains that she and Tripp aren’t involved and he should know, he and Gabi live there too.

Wei Shin insists that the “boy” needs to get his own place, what kind of a doctor is he if he can’t afford his own place? Even Li is offended by that comment, and Wei is lucky that Gabi isn’t tearing him up to shred verbally-Wendy realizes her brother’s good for something and she thanks him.
