General Hospital Spoilers: 2026 Casting Bombshells – Every Exit, Return, Recast & Surprise Debut

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that while we’re only halfway through the year, there has been an avalanche of casting comings and goings in 2026.

If you blinked you may have missed some of these significant switch-ups so we’re here to break down all the changes that occurred to date in Port Charles, starting with Carolyn Hennesy’s (Diane Miller) return.

She was last seen in January after breaking her leg and subsequent surgeries required a three-month hiatus.

She told Soap Opera Digest: “The love from the fans truly got me through this and kept my mind right.” Welcome back Carolyn, the show wasn’t the same without you!

Kate Mansi & Andrew Hawkes

Kate Mansi is gone as Kristina Corinthos as of June 13. She was in the role for three years and told SoapSteph’s Soap Dish “it feels like the right time for both Kristina and me to step into new adventures.”

Maybe so, but could the show have written something more believable than unstable Kristina leaving PC after being accepted to UCLA medical school?

Sure, Jan.

On a brighter note, Andrew Hawkes debuted in January as uber sleazy WSB director Ross Cullum.

Cullum has been devilishly demented as he works with fellow baddie Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) on Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) cold fusion project and he will be missed.

Nathan Dean & Jonathan Bennett

Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) is back in town and the lovable rogue is wrapped up in a baby daddy mystery that got a lot murkier last week when he pulled a classic DNA switcheroo at GH!

On May 18 Jonathan Bennett debuted as PCPD detective Joe Fitzpatrick.

The character has been clunky at times, but the kinks are being worked out and we predict that he and Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) explore a love connection.

PC Newbies

Dean Geyer is another newbie and debuts in July; he’s connected to a Robert Scorpio (the late Tristan Rogers) inspired storyline.

Also debuting in July is Kayden Brenna Tokarski, a recast of Scout Cain (formerly played by Cosette Abinante)

The character has been SORAS’d and she told SOD she is “So honored to be joining the GH family!!”
Troy Lennon Appel debuts as Hudson, a mysterious businessman, in the July 30 episode.

Kelly Kruger & Jequan Jackson Are Ones to Watch

Kelly Kruger debuts in July as Serena Baldwin (formerly played by Carly Schroeder). The soap vet played Mac on The Young and the Restless and Eva on The Bold and the Beautiful.

She gushed on Instagram: “This is the absolute perfect fit, and I can’t wait for you all to meet Serena!!!!!”

This summer Jequan Jackson returns as Quinn, a friend of Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and we predict he stirs the pot in his friend’s love life.

Anna Devane & Martin Return

Finola Hughes was absent from March until June 24 and she looks set to bust out of her French psych ward at any minute, while reports have Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) also returning to PC soon.

Kevin & Marco Depart

Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) was last seen in January 5 when he and young Ace went into hiding overseas.

Lindstrom is currently starring as thug Joey Armstrong on the CBS soap Beyond the Gates.
Adrian Anchondo’s character Marco Rios lasted a year before being killed off by Ross Cullum in March.

Ever since then we’ve been rooting for fantastic Anchondo to return in some capacity, maybe as Marco’s good twin!

Jason and Maxie Return

Kirsten Storms returned as Maxie Jones in February after finishing a leave of absence that began last August 2025, and she last aired in March.

In June she threw her return up in the air by writing on Instagram “I can’t say I will feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work.”

Steve Burton’s character Jason Morgan was last seen in March and he is set to return on the July 13 episode.

He left after being “newly married” saying “I want to take a break, I want to live life a little bit and go enjoy.”
