General Hospital spoilers report Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) submitted his guilty plea to the judge and awaited his fate — confident that protecting Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was the right decision. But when the judge came down on him with a much stronger sentence than he had anticipated, Drew was dumbfounded.
Completely blindsided by the realization that he would be going away for two years — from not just Carly and his company, but his own child and family — Drew is struggling to wrap his head around the whirlwind of events. Carly is right there with him, and she’s feeling rather hopeless about her ability to fix it. In fact, she’s ready to turn herself in if she thought it would change anything, but Drew will warn her that if the judge was willing to give Drew two years’ time, he would do far worse to Carly. With Drew being locked up, Carly is left with one person to turn to to fix the mess she’s made. Can Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) help her get Drew out of this?
General Hospital Spoilers — Things Don’t Go As Planned
Drew isn’t going away for six months; he’s going away for two years. And he’s not going to Spring Ridge either; he’s headed to Pentonville where he’ll break bread with criminals far worse than Carly. This is a far cry from what anyone expected the judge to have to say. Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) will be prepared to appeal the ruling, but he’s not going to give his client much hope that there will be a massive turnaround on the sentencing. It looks like this judge was seeking to make an example out of Drew. Whoever could have given the judge that idea?
GH Spoilers – Leak Sonny Corinthos’ Hands Are Tied
Sonny’s heart will truly ache for Carly, but there won’t be any way he can get her out of this one. In fact, he’ll be just as stunned as she is at the verdict rendered against Drew. Sonny is a man of many means with a lot of reach, but it is going to look like someone else got to the judge first. Some might even suspect that it was Sonny himself — angling for a way to get Drew out of Carly’s life so he could have her back to himself.
But the reality is, it’s more likely that Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) was behind this bold move against her own relative. Regardless, Sonny won’t see what he can do to help Carly other than being her friend and supporting her for the next two years that Drew is away. Two more years with Carly needing Sonny? That’s not what Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) wants to hear.
General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Spencer Is Sad, And Lonely
Two years is a long time to miss your other half. As Sonny prepares to marry his, Carly will prepare to say goodbye to Drew. He’s likely to martyr himself and encourage Carly not to wait for him, but she would never be able to stomach the thought of letting him rot in a cell for her crimes as she moves on with someone else.
Still, fans might suspect that’s going to happen anyway, especially if the truth comes to light about Nina being involved in landing Drew behind bars in the first place. With Ms. Reeves teetering on the brink of a breakdown and Drew headed to prison, any longtime GH fan can see that a reunion between Carly and Sonny might be in the works. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out if they’re right.
