Viewers will recall that Joss’ boyfriend, Oscar Nero, passed away last year after a lengthy battle with a brain tumor. Joss is upset that things going back to normal will mean that she has forgotten Oscar.

When Joss turned in her first paper to her English teacher, Dustin Phillips, he told her that he felt it was extremely well written, he almost gave her a lower grade because he thought she could go much deeper, and that she was capable of doing so much more, He has even suggested she start keeping a journal where she can write down her deepest thoughts. Look for Joss to become more engaged in the class, as she has already told her friends that Dustin seems to really understand her.

Before long, Joss may mistake his interest in her to be more than a typical teacher/student relationship. Viewers know that Dustin seems to have eyes only Lulu Spencer at this time, so she definitely misunderstand his interest in her. This can only lead to trouble down the road, so as soon as Dustin realizes what is happening, he will have to set Joss down and set her straight. But Joss may not be so easily deterred.

But once Joss realizes she was wrong about Dustin, she may very well go out of her way to make Dustin’s life difficult, maybe even bringing allegation of improper conduct against Dustin. This could end up very bad for everyone.
