General Hospital spoilers tease Emme Rylan is reacting to the loss of GH’s Lulu Spencer, who she has played since 2013. The General Hospital actress posted a photo of her family hugging her on Instagram, and she appears to be in tears!
General Hospital Comings & Goings – Drastic Cuts At Soap Opera
Shocking announcements were made of drastic cuts at GH, and Emme Rylan was one of the first to go, along with William DeVry, who played Julian Jerome. The reason appears to be budget cuts, and as with any company, usually, they fire from the top down. Emme and Wil were both contract players, presumably among the highest-paid so it’s all about the money!
More cuts are expected but not announced as of this writing. Emme commented that some days are hard, and you need your whole family to give you a hug. Many of her coworkers from GH reached out to her, Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) with a “love you”. Michelle Stafford, formerly Nina Reeves appeared shocked; she called her a shining f k g star, the expletive implying her shock!
Kirsten Storms, who plays Lulu’s tv best friend Maxie Jones called Emme “a queen”. The two women are besties in real life as well. Cynthia Watros (current Nina Reeves) commented with an “I love you” and James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine) sent a row of heart emojis. Briana Lane, the temporary Brook Lynn Quartermaine also sent a row of hearts. Over 10,000 put likes or comments, with the overwhelming majority expressing shock and concern. Many commented that cutting Emme and the legacy character of Lesley Lu “Lulu “ Spencer was a huge mistake!

Several also commented for fans to call the General Hospital hotline, and to tweet or comment on Facebook or by snail mail to either the show or the executive producer Frank Valentini to reverse the decision. There have been fan movements before in General Hospital’s history that were successful in bringing actors’ jobs and characters back to the show, sometimes the actors playing a different role. This was true in the case of Michael Easton, who now plays Dr. Hamilton Finn.
The fan outcry came after Dr. Silas Clay was killed on the show. Other actors/characters who have been brought back after fan outcry in recent years are Genie Francis as Laura Spencer Collins and Rebecca Herbst as Elizabeth Webber Baldwin. The Spencer family is a legacy family for General Hospital, and it seems inconceivable that the powers that be would eliminate a child of an iconic couple like Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Laura! Fans are also confused as to why Lulu would be eliminated so soon after rehiring Dominic Zamprogna as Dante Falconeri! Here is how you can help.
