After all, what is Gladys doing back in Port Charles, really? In case you missed it, Gladys is a part of Sonny’s family as she is his dad Mike’s (Max Gail) cousin. Conveniently he arranged for her to do him a big favor, and that may end up being his undoing.

She agreed to tell anyone who would listen that Dev (Ashton Arbab) is her grandson, a big fat lie meant to disguise the fact that he is really a teen from Turkey who helped Sonny save Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).

Sonny felt beholden to the teen and fabricated a web of lies to keep him in town and take him under his wing. She got a big payday in return but has proven herself to be greedy.

Gladys has a history of trying to get more money from Sonny, and currently she’s staying on at his house as a semi-unwanted post-holiday guest. He has warned her there is no more money forthcoming, but she seems intent on staying around for some reason.

Is it just a coincidence that during her stay someone has upped the ante against Sonny and his business? One of his coffee trucks was hijacked and burned to the ground.

Gladys is a lot of things, but discrete is not one of them. She may be gathering all sorts of intel under Sonny’s nose, but for who?

Most tellingly, on Monday Gladys asked Carly (Laura Wright) for a tour of the coffee warehouse. Maybe she was just bored?

Gladys’ request should have appeared fishy to Carly who didn’t bat an eyelash. After all, Gladys gave up a luxe spa day to tour a grimy warehouse—who does that? And, as we speak Sonny is out of town on a trip fully sanctioned by good old Gladys.
