General Hospital spoilers tease Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) has been keeping a close eye on Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) for far longer than his cousin, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) realizes. This was never about chastising Ava for calling him out in front of Austin.

Mason wasn’t chasing after her in hopes of sticking it to her for embarrassing him. Rather, he’s concerned that she can pinpoint his whereabouts on the night she was attacked by The Hook — a storyline everyone thinks has come to a close but it hasn’t. Ava is wrapped up in a scheme much larger than she’s aware of, and she just might become the victim of it if Mason gets his way.

Ava knows Mason has far too much information on her. She’s been laying low at Wyndemere and praying he doesn’t do anything with the information he has, but she’s also worried about what his intentions might be. Why was he there the night she was hooked at the Quartermaine picnic? Why wouldn’t he admit to having been there? What is he holding over Austin’s head that made the good doctor so hesitant to argue with him? Why was he following Ava before she attacked Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), and what has he done with his body since? When Mason confronts Ava and hints to her that her hubby is coming to, she’s going to be rattled to her core.

GH Spoilers – Suggest Austin Gatlin Holt Knows More Than He’s Letting On

It’s possible that Austin isn’t quite as good of a guy as he puts on. Let’s not forget what he did to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) by blackmailing Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Furthermore, Mason was obviously holding something over his head when he first came to Port Charles, too. What did Austin do that he’s been getting away with all this time?
