General Hospital Spoilers: Michael’s Plan Blows Up As Carly Cleans Up The Mess And Selina Declares War

General Hospital spoilers reveal Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is soon to be in hot water with his entire family as his plan to take down his father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), comes to a premature and explosive climax.

Michael hired Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to make sure this very thing wouldn’t happen. Dex was supposed to earn Sonny’s trust and leverage it against him as he dismantled his empire while working on the insider as one of the mob kingpin’s trusted associates. Instead, Dex has found a happy home inside the mob and he doesn’t feel like leaving it. Choosing to side with Sonny and come clean in hopes of redeeming himself, Dex will shatter Michael’s revenge game — and his relationship with his father.

It wasn’t supposed to happen this way. Michael was more than ready to say goodbye to his dad and the tarnished reputation he had bestowed upon the Corinthos name at this time last year. But things change, and the more Sonny has been a supportive force to Michael in recent months, the more difficult it’s become for him to stay mad at the guy. So when Dex blows everything up, Michael may not even be all that angry, but he isn’t going to be happy either — since everyone he loves will be furious with him.

Dex might botch the plan, but he’s going to do it far too late. Hoping to continue to serve Sonny, he could position himself as both the person who took him down and the one who seeks to pull him back out of this mess. That being said, someone else will have to man the ship while Sonny is locked up — and he won’t trust Dex enough to even attempt it. There won’t be much choice in the matter for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) when she learns what her son has done. The safety of their family depends on Sonny’s empire continuing to run the show in Port Charles — even if Carly had to be at the helm.

Certainly, though, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) would gain no more respect from them and she isn’t cut out for this kind of thing anyway. With Sonny’s enterprise more vulnerable than it has been in years, Selina Wu (Lydia Look) is going to think it’s prime time to strike against Sonny and attempt to take over his territory. She has another thing coming if she thinks Carly is ever going to take that lying down. Will this snafu while Sonny’s away pave the way for the fate of Carly’s professional future?
