General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Expected Michael’s Betrayal, But Not Dex’s — Brutal Fallout

General Hospital spoilers suggest Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is known for exacting revenge in some pretty brutal ways, and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) won’t be an exception to the rule when he learns how he has managed to double-cross him. Dex’s choices will soon create a ripple effect that shakes the Corinthos family to its core. Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) betrayal might cut deep, but Sonny doesn’t really believe in retaliating against family. However, Dex can most certainly pay the price for the both of them — and Sonny knows that alone will leave Michael crippled by guilt.

Mixed emotions have been bubbling up like a volcanic eruption since Sonny swooped in to save Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). It was as if he was the knight in shining armor, but Michael wouldn’t buy it. He sees his pops as nothing more than a criminal who has to be stopped.

On the other hand, General Hospital spoilers show Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) held a different perspective on Sonny. For her, he is a beacon of hope and a savior for their family in a time of peril. However, Michael’s sudden confession shattered his own world — especially a fragile Willow. As Willow presses Michael to call off the quest for personal justice over Sonny, he’ll backpedal quickly, leaving Dex in the dust.

Michael and Dex aren’t exactly friends. They can’t be seen with one another or it may raise suspicion that they are working together. Michael didn’t like it that Dex got involved with his little sister, Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) — who is counting on him to get out of the mob soon on the heels of this takedown. So, when the takedown doesn’t happen, that’s going to leave Joss spinning her wheels and Dex trapped, working for the mob. Ironically, Dex and Sonny have shared a stronger bond as of late than the mob kingpin has with his own son; so it’s going to sting Dex badly to lose that relationship when the truth comes out.

Michael might not be willing to take this plan to the end after all, but that doesn’t mean Sonny won’t still find out about his son’s original intentions for him. When he does, it’s a guarantee that all hell will break loose. This mob boss has never taken well to being lied to or set up to think he connected with someone who was acting betraying him the whole time. Sonny might not be vengeful enough to put an end to his son or former stepdaughter, but he knows it will hit them both hard if he sees to it that Dex never lives to see another day. Three for one?
