Why Would Valentin Cassadine Want Anything To Do With Hayden Barnes?

General Hospital viewers wonder why Valentin would want anything to do with Hayden? He does know that she works with Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and that she was married to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). He also knows that she was looking for something in Helena Cassadine’s (Constance Towers) old trophy room at Wyndemere that night that she and Jax were over for dinner because Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) caught her!

She covered by saying she was lost and that things had changed since she had lived there, but neither Liesl nor Valentin probably really bought the story. Why would Hayden go into any other room looking for the bathroom, as had been her excuse that night? Besides, Liesl never has trusted Hayden – why should Valentin?

Valentin Cassadine Now Knows That There Is Something She Was Looking For

Valentin now knows that there was something Hayden was looking for, and with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) wanting to buy that portrait of Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) that once hung in the trophy room where Hayden was snooping, Valentin now figures there’s something about that painting that is important even though he would have just as soon used it for a dartboard!

It’s obvious that Valentin doesn’t know anything about the codicil or that it may be hidden in the portrait, or he would have destroyed it long ago or forged a new one! As far as he knows, Nikolas died in 2016 leaving him the sole Cassadine male other than Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) who was not old enough to inherit, and according to the terms of Mikkos Cassadine’s (John Colicos) original will it has to be the oldest male Cassadine, not the youngest.

Valentin Cassadine Decides To Follow Hayden Barnes

General Hospital viewers will recall that Valentin was a spy back in the day and that he went to WSB spy school with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Valentin may come to the conclusion that the best way to find out what everyone thinks is in that portrait is to follow Hayden or have someone else follow her.

He may do it himself since Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) would not work for him again, considering what happened with the Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) fiasco and the job where he had him spying on Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) at the same time he was working for Jax and he got busted! Valentin’s not going to try to follow Jax or Laura, because they may be watching their backs but Hayden may be a different story. Valentin will be in for a major shock if while spying on Hayden and doing surveillance he finds a not-so-dead Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) in the process!
