General Hospital spoilers reveal that everyone has a soft spot for cute kids, and Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) is about as adorable as they come. We don’t get to see her that often but after being featured opposite Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), many viewers are asking just who exactly is Avery?

Little Avery Corinthos is the daughter of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Ava Jerome (Maura West), so as you would imagine she’s had very eventful, albeit short, life!

Avery was born in late 2014 and even before her birth, her parents were fighting over her. This is because their union was not one of love, and in the end became a very contentious matter. Part of the problem was that Ava was also involved with Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), Sonny’s son. Oops.

This not only led to bad blood, it also called into question who the father was. Sonny was so livid with Ava (does he not know it takes two to tango?) that he wanted to kill her. Being pregnant saved Ava from certain death.

GH Spoilers – Ava Had A Traumatic Pregnancy And Childbirth

Prior to Avery’s birth, Ava was given drugs by one of her enemies, with the intent to kill her baby. Luckily this did not happen! Nonetheless, little Avery still wasn’t out of the woods as her mother went into premature labor.

You wouldn’t guess by their strong friendship today, but once upon a time, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was Ava’s worst enemy. Back in the day, Nina wanted a baby so badly that she was the second person to try and drug Ava and her baby. This time around the maliciousness worked and Ava went into early labor at which time Nina kidnapped the baby.

Eventually Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) became involved, also playing surrogate parent to Avery. With so many parents in the mix, a DNA test was called for! The test results showed that Sonny was Avery’s dad.

After the dust settled Sonny took custody of Avery, but Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) Sonny’s other son, wrangled the custody away from Sonny. Ava was not finished fighting however and went to war for custody of her daughter, a battle which she won.

In a dramatic turnabout, at this time Sonny once again has custody of Avery while Ava has visitation rights. We told you that Avery has had quite an eventful life!
