Actor Maurice Benard who’s played the mob boss on the show for close to three decades recently cleared up any preconceived notions about who Sonny’s one true soul mate in Port Charles is.

GH spoilers imply that things between Sonny and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) are going well, but how long will this last? Their relationship is certainly special, but how does compare to what he had with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright)? Sure, Nina managed to destroy their recent marriage together, but CarSon has been through it all. From nuptials woes to Morgan Corinthos’s (Bryan Craig) passing, mob drama, and so much more; CarSon is down, but don’t count this super couple out, entirely.

Another great love of Sonny’s was Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil). The two had an incredible bond and unique understanding of each other, not to mention their chemistry! Alas, probably the biggest issue was bad timing. The pieces never fit for them, but who knows? Maybe someday Brenda will return and the two can finally live out their happily ever after.

Fans can’t also forget the love affair between Sonny and Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan). Corinthos not only fell in love with Kate but also her alter ego Connie, which caused a ton of friction. In the end, Kate/Connie met her demise at the hands of Ava Jerome (Maura West), so there is zero chance of a reunion. Unless Kate/Connie returns from the dead (stranger things have happened in the little town).

Some Twitter GH fans picked from the list she provided, and others jumped in and wrote names that weren’t on the list. In fact, Mr. Sonny Corinthos, himself, Maurice Benard chimed in on the Twitter post to set the record straight.

So, who is Sonny’s true Port Chuckles’ greatest love? Benard tweeted one word, “Jason’. Of course, Maurice is referring to Corinthos’ BFF and right-hand man over the years, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), to which Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) replied, with a, “yep”.
