General Hospital Spoilers: Will ABC Soap Run Out Of New Episodes?

GH LogoGeneral Hospital spoilers reveal that the fear that daytime dramas could fall serious victim to the restrictions being put in place due to coronavirus are real and becoming more possible with every passing day.

The four remaining daytime dramas air five episodes a week, Monday through Friday. The taping of all four shows have been affected by the lockdown put in place in response to the pandemic. Now, speculation about the long-term effect this will have on the shows is growing.

Production on GH has been suspended and if ABC’s only remaining soap doesn’t return from its self-imposed hiatus soon, is it possible that the legendary soap could run out of taped episodes before filming resumes?

General Hospital spoilers – Will fans be watching reruns soon?

In reality this is a question being asked by viewers of all of the current soaps on air in addition to GH: NBC’s Days of our Lives and CBS’s The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful. So far TPTB have not revealed if there is a Plan B, and if so what it might be.  This is only speculation, but if indeed the backlog of taped shows runs out, one possibility is that reruns would be aired.

Of all four sudsers, DOOL is in a somewhat different position as it regularly tapes episodes several months in advance of airing. Nonetheless, with no end in sight to the restrictions put in place due to the virus, anything is possible even for DOOL.

General Hospital spoilers – Stars are doing what they do best, entertaining the fans

The reality is that The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital have a lot fewer shows in the can ready to air during the suspension. By some estimates, if the CBS sudsers have been in production four to six weeks in advance, this translates to the well running dry sometime in early May.

On the other hand, if GH reportedly had about eight weeks of shows filmed when it shuttered, this means we would see new episodes well into May. Of course, these are just estimates, with other outlets reporting slightly different scenarios, and preemptions would alter the schedules accordingly.

For their part, GH stars have made it a priority to keep in touch with their fans by being proactive on social media, posting everything from exercise tips to humorous posts poking fun at the mutual predicament stars and viewers alike are in with the looming threat of not being able to tape or watch original content for some time.

I got a very bad feeling that we will be watching several tapes of the so-called classic episode coming GH’s video vault until the new episode will become available

We can wait if necessary. I prefer everyone to be safe.
