Saint Liz’s romance with the once degenerate Franco (Roger Howarth) has served up all of the above elements and then some—it’s a true beauty and the beast plot. Back in the day the artist known as Franco was a mad serial killer with a lust for vengeance that knew no bounds.

Alas, the love of sweet Nurse Elizabeth was enough to turn the monster into a pile of malleable mush. But not so fast, their happily ever after was not guaranteed. Her loved ones, heck, even disinterested strangers, warned her incessantly about the dangers of being involved with the bad guy.

But Liz threw caution to the wind and these two were married not too long ago, end of story. Except it wasn’t, and to make a long story short, Franco was kidnapped and another man’s memories were inserted into his head. During this time Franco threw Liz to the curb and lived out the life of the man he thought he was.

Fast forward to the last few days when the procedure was reversed and the lovebirds reunited. Except that Liz seems to have an issue with the fact that Franco slept with another woman while they were apart. Of course, he has no recollection and she SAYS that it’s water under the bridge.
Why don’t we believe her?

General Hospital spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine might tempt Elizabeth Webber

GH spoilers reveal that when Liz catches up with Nik she gets up in his grill over his deception. What does she care about? They were a thing long ago, and she now has Franco to cuddle with. Maybe! There really is no indication that Liz is ready to move past Franco’s unremembered sex with Kim (Tamara Braun). And who can blame her?

It remains to be seen how this sticky wicket plays out, but isn’t it convenient that in the midst of her \reckoning with Franco’s return that another lover has also returned to Port Charles?

Could it be that Nikolas will be the perfect distraction for Liz, one that keeps her from dealing with her issues with Franco? Be sure to tune in and find out!
