Steve Burton Finally Speaks Out On His General Hospital Exit

Steve Burton Finally Speaks Out On His General Hospital ExitGeneral Hospital fans were stunned when Steve Burton was suddenly let go from the soap last fall as a result of the actor refusing to comply with ABC/Disney’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

What Happened To Jason Morgan?

After Jason Morgan finally married Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) when the soap truly believed they were finally going to do a Jarly romance, all heck broke loose when first, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) arrived back in town alive and without amnesia. The second obstacle was Burton’s non-compliance with getting vaccinated. Ingo Rademacher who played Jasper ‘Jax’ Jacks was also let go and is now suing ABC, but Burton hasn’t taken things nearly that far and remains pragmatic about what happened.

As for Jason, he was caught in the rubble of crumbling Cassadine tunnels in Crete and presumed dead, while Jax just decided to return to his native Australia. Now, Burton has told Deadline his feelings about what happened. However, Deadline notes that he wouldn’t say whether he was vaccinated now in 2022 or not.

Steve Burton Finally States His Case

“I’m a public figure and that’s just how life is,” Burton said when asked about how public things were when he left GH. “It was my belief and I stuck to it and I knew it was gonna be that way. I knew some people would agree with it and some people wouldn’t agree with it. It’s a personal choice and that’s what I had to do. GH was a huge part of my life and I’m so grateful for the opportunity there and the people there,” Burton told Deadline.

“We all have a choice in how to handle things. You could get angry and pissed off and bad-mouth people and take the low road and that’s not gonna get anyone anywhere, ever. I truly am grateful and I work from that.”

Burton said he does believe there needs to be COVID protocols taken and praised both GH and Days of Our Lives, where he will play Harris Michael on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, this week.

“Whatever you believe or not believe about Covid, there have to be protocols in place,” Burton said. “At GH we are having great success. Everybody was social distancing, masking. It’s the same thing at DAYS. And they can take tests there, which is smart, every day when you go in. It hasn’t relaxed and I don’t think it should for a little while.”

It is his right and I’m glad he stood his ground. To many people getting deathly sick from those shots. That job isn’t worth your life. Which with the side effects and all the lies it could of cost you your life.

I don’t imagine his separation and divorce filing has anything to do with it ?
